Sri Lanka’s Treasury bill rates moved up at the weekly auction held today.
The three month rate climbed by three basis points to reach 10.66%, while the six month rate rose to 11.83% from last weeks rate of 11.77%.

Sri Lanka has raised ‘Excise Duties’ on Cigars, Cigarettes, Liquor and Ethyl alcohol.
The duties are revised with effect from the 6th October, 2012.
With this revision, retail prices of Wine, Arrack, Foreign Liquor and Malt Liquor (Beer) have gone up along with the prices of several other products.
