Sri Lanka’s Treasury bill rates rise at the weekly auction

Sri Lanka’s treasury bill rates moved upwards across the board at the weekly auction held today.

The short term three month rate rose by 8 basis points from last week’s rate to reach 11.20% while the six month rate saw climbing by 16 basis points to stand at 12.77%.

One year rate jumped to 12.99% from last weeks rate of 12.88%.

The auction which was held to re-issue Rs. 15 billion worth of maturing treasury bills was oversubscribed with Rs. 33.78 billion worth of bids being received.

Out of the total bids, the Central Bank which conducts the auction has accepted Rs. 14.49 billion from the auction.
