Sri Lanka will impose a two hour power cut across 58 towns and adjoining villages during today as well.

The power cuts will be imposed during the day time as was done yesterday.

Sri Lanka, since Thursday started to reimpose power cuts across many parts of the Island, including the city of Colombo, owing to a break down occurred in the country’s only coal power plant located in Norrochcholai.

The failure to operate the Coal power plant has resulted in the national grid losing 300 Mega Watts of electricity thus forcing the CEB to enforce power cuts.
