Sri Lanka won the first test match played against the visiting Pakistan tea by beating them with a margin of 209 runs.
Pakistani’s who were given a target of 510 runs to win the match, were all out for just 300 runs in their second innings.
Nuwan Kulasekera and Suraj Randiv captured 3 wickets each in the Pakistani second innings while Rangana Herath captured two wickets.
Pakistani’s only managed to score 100 runs in their first innings against a massive Lankan score of 472, while the home team also scored 137 runs for the loss of five wickets in their second innings, before declaring.
Kumar Sangakkara scored a unbeaten 199 runs in the first innings thus giving the Lankans the early edge of the game.
