Niluka Karunaratne beats world's 8th ranked at the olympics

Sri Lankan badminton player Niluka Karunaratne defeated Tago Kenichi of Japan in the preliminary round of the men’s single event held at the London Olympics.

Tago Kenichi who was beaten by Karunaratne is currently the world’s 8th ranked player.

The game was played this afternoon.

Karunaratne plays in the group “C”.
