Sri Lanka won the 8th game of the ongoing tri-series by beating India with a margin of 52 runs to take the second spot in the points table behind Australia.
The Lankans who batted first after winning the toss scored 289 runs for the loss of 6 wickets with Lahiru Thirmanna top scoring by making 62 runs and T.M. Dilshan scoring a half century.
Chasing the score, Indians were bundled out for 238 runs in 45.1 overs with Thisara Perera taking 4 wickets by conceding 37 runs.
However, man of the match award went to Nuwan Kulasekera who got the important early breakthroughs by removing three key Indian batsmens.
His victims included Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Ravi Jadeja.
For India, Virat Kohli made 66 and Irfan Pathan knocked 47.
This win takes Sri Lanka to the second place of the points table behind Australia, while India is in the third place.
The today’s day night game was played in Brisbane.
