The Indian cricket board has once again ‘rejected’ Sri Lanka Cricket’s request to allow Indian players to appear in the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League, a media report said.
The report says the BCCI feels that if the Indian players are allowed to play in the SLPL, it will have to let them play in T20 leagues organized in other test playing nations, as well.
Sri Lanka had to postpone the inaugural SLPL, which was expected to be held last year, as India refused to send their players, citing other reasons.
In contrast, Sri Lanka has even cancelled its national team’s tours to accommodate the Lankan players to play in the IPL.
