Ranil Abeynaike dies (pics: sunday times)

Sri Lanka’s renowned international cricket commentator Ranil Abeynaike has passed away, following a heart attack says a media report.

Abeynaike 57 was a first class cricketer in Sri Lanka during the country’s non test playing era.

He was a right-handed batsman who bowled slow left orthodox and played for the SSC and Bedfordshire during his first class career.

Abeynaike also acted as a curator and functioned as the General Manager of the SSC.
