President Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that Sri Lanka would not have been able to defeat terrorism without the help and support of Pakistan.
Rajapaksa has also said that Pakistan has extended unflinching support to Sri Lanka during the three decade internal conflict.
The President made these comments, when a Pakistani Parliamentary delegation led by Dr Nafisa Shah who is a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Chairperson of National Commission for Human Development paid a courtesy call on the President Rajapaksa.
The 22 member Pakistani Parliamentary Delegation is currently in Sri Lanka, taking part in the ongoing 58th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference in Colombo.
Pakistan has been a key arms supplier to the Island during its battle against the LTTE, A US proscribed terror group.
The group was eliminated by the Sri Lankan forces during the year 2009.
