Colombo Stock Exchange ended with ASPI making a marginal gain of 0.14% to close the day at 4,998 points while the MPI lost 0.27% to end the day at 4,462 points.
“Markets opened on an optimistic note but erased its gains and were trading in the red by the afternoon as profit booking dragged the indices lower” added the BRS in its daily market report.
The day saw a turnover of Rs. 295 million, while foreign participation saw a net inflow of Rs. 6.96 million.
100 shares have declined in prices while 85 shares have made gains.
“Markets have seen a rally for the last 7 trading days and today seemed to be a profit booking day. It seems that the short term trend for the markets has turned bullish although there will be corrections in the markets and any dips around 4,850 – 4,900 levels can be used as buying opportunity” further added BRS in its daily market report.
