Sri Lanka has alerted nearly 200 public and private institutions to take guard against the “Flame virus’ which enters into computers to collect information.
Roshan Chandraguptha, Information Security Engineer of the Sri Lanka’s Computer Emergency Response Team said, they have alerted nearly 200 institutions both public and private and also individuals who have registered with them to receive such alerts.
Chandraguptha however said, the Flame virus has been specifically targeted at the Iranian Government and therefore, there is a minimal threat on Sri Lanka.
However, he advices the public and the institutions who use computers to keep their computer operating systems and software’s they use, updated with the latest security update.
He also said, the Iranian officials have already identified and found the required solution to counter the threat.
