The Couple

Zhang Yi Fin and Shen Yao, a Chinese couple yesterday got married in Sri Lanka and is currently spending their honeymoon enjoying in the country’s beautiful beach side.

Ironically both of them have not visited Sri Lanka before the trip they made to the country, to tie the knot.

Both Zhang Yi and Shen Yao who respectively works as a Construction Engineer & a Primary School Teacher in China has found out about Sri Lanka through the internet.

Once the searching done via the worldwide web, the couple has got the services of a travel partner and organized their wedding at Jetwing Light House Hotel in Galle.

Both have tied the knot in style according to Sri Lankan traditions.

The story got the attention of the Sri Lanka Tourism authorities, who these days look for every piece of Chinese to promote Sri Lanka in the giant Asian country to capture a slice out of the millions of Chinese travelers who travel around the globe annually.

It announced the  couple’s wedding to the world via a media release.

Sri Lanka Tourism Authorities are trying hard to win more Chinese travelers to the country which last year stood at just 16,000.

This year, Sri Lanka Tourism which is short of adequate cash to promote the country in China has managed to attract around 9000 travelers up to June.

This is an year on year growth of around 10%.
