The couple

The concluded weekend saw the picturesque Passikudah beach located in Sri Lanka’s Eastern coast hosting its first ever foreign wedding.

It was tie the knot time for Russia’s Ms. Olga Yurievna Gorbacheva and Vladimir Alexandroich Luchakovski who decided to marry in Sri Lanka.

The couple chose the Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa situated in the Passikudah beach to host their wedding, which was held mixing the Russian, Sinhalese and Hindu traditions.

Wedding ceremony started with performing the traditional Sinhalese Poruwa ceremony which also featured Kandyan dancers and drummers.

Poruwa ceremony was followed with couple taking part in performing Russian customs and also the Hindu customs, which was conducted by a local Hindu priest.

The couple also released two white Doves to signify the peace which prevails in the Eastern coast.

Duo’s family members, hotel staff and the guests of the resort have taken part in the wedding.

Please make sure no UPFA politician goes anywhere near this couple. otherwise, the groom will end up dead and the bride raped and the hotel robbed.
